I want to leave a lasting impact with my work

Franka Wijnbergen – Contentspecialist and graphic designer

“I grew up on a farm, so I have always been close to nature. I think that’s where my passion for sustainability comes from. During my studies, I became more and more aware of climate urgency. I started reading about it and realized that real action was needed. My studies learned me a lot about behavioral change, for example on how to motivate, influence and persuade people towards a more sustainable life. As a result, I became more aware of my own behavior and started to make sustainable changes in my daily life.”

Franka wrote her thesis on the Plastic Soup. After her studies, she continued in the direction of communications, first at Intratuin and later at the Nijmeegse 4Daagse as an image coordinator. “Climate is not something you can shove away; the more I learned about it, the more I wanted to contribute. ISPT’s projects and programs contribute a lot to the climate transition, and I enjoy being a part of that.”

“Besides, I think it’s important to keep on learning. I think ISPT is an organization that can offer me that. I want to keep challenging and developing myself. Sometimes you have to face the uncomfortable, I’ve learned. The dialogue about climate is not always an easy one, but it is necessary to discuss it. Now, I can facilitate that discussion with our communication which feels like a concrete contribution to the climate transition.”
